The Alliance on Aging is looking
for volunteers to help it with its Senior Outreach Luncheons, which are held at
St. Ansgar's Church at 72 East Joaquin
Street in Salinas. The next one will
be held on December 3. The church holds
various luncheons and dinners, and it's a great way for seniors to get out of
the house and get social stimulation.
The luncheon is just $7 which includes lunch, dessert and a choice of a
beverage. If you are interested in
helping with this lunch, the time commitment would be for about three to four
hours on the first Tuesday of each month.
If you would like to help, please call Teresa Sullivan or Michelle Lopez
at 655-1334. The Alliance on Aging is a great
organization which helps seniors with a number of matters including tax
preparation, an ombudsman program to prevent abuse in long-term care
facilities, employment training and finding a job and HICAP Medicare
counseling.
