View From A Non-Profit Serving Carmel, Carmel Valley, Gonzalez, Greenfield, King City, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Salinas, Seaside And Soledad California The national jobless rates for Veterans has fallen, but it is still way to high. The year ended with an unemployment rate of 9.9% and a total of 205,000 unemployed veterans. That's down significantly from 12.1% in 2011 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics) but it's way above the national unemployment rate of 7.8%. Making matters worse, as the Afghanistan war winds down, another 300,000 will leave the military over each of the next four years. I hope the community helps these veterans. They've proven they have a vast array of skill sets and they need our help getting back to work.
