A State Senator in New York was arrested on Monday for
corruption, falsifying business records, tampering with business records and
running what state investigators called a sham education non-profit to siphon
public money to her aide and a niece.
Unbelievably, this 74 year old woman violated the public trust all in
order to take less than $30,000 out of a non-profit called Parent Workshop Inc.
to help a friend and a relative. News
like this is so disturbing
because there are so many good non-profits out there and it makes it that much
more difficult for those of us that are trying to make a real difference raise
money. I worked long and hard to get
Hands To Help Seniors to where it is today.
We're proud to have no paid staff members and all volunteers which are
doing a great job getting ready for our event Elegant Eats and Divine Treats
which will be held September 27 at Bernardus Lodge starting at 5:30 p.m. We hope to see you there. If you'd like to buy tickets, click here. If you would like to make a donation, please
