Monterey, CA FDA Approving A New Cholesterol Lowering Drug
by Richard Kuehn on 07/22/15
The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is close to approving a new drug called Praluent, the first of a new class of powerful cholesterol-lowering drugs. Many in the medical community are excited about prospects for the drug, although health care companies are worried about the potentially high cost of treating all of the people who may need an extra boost to lower their lipids. The drug, made by Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is expected to be priced at $7,000 to $12,000 a year.
