The front page of the Wall Street Journal today had a frightening story.  A new government report forecasts that the Disability fund will be entirely out of money by 2016, just four years away.  That's two years prior to the date that was forecast last year and emphasizes what a dire situation the government is in.  There has been some talk about combining the disability fund with the Social Security Fund, although the forecast for that was reduced as well.  It's supposed to run out of funds three years less than previously forecasted, 2033. If this isn't done, automatic cuts to recipients of 25% will be implemented if the fund runs out of money.  If the two funds are combined, they will run out of money by 2033.  There is sure to be plenty of bickering in Congress over this and it will surely be a political hot button with voters.  It's so sad to see the government cut benefits to those who need it the most like those on disability.  in 2011, 10.6 million American's collected disability payments of $128.9 million.  This is a huge number of people that will be impacted if these cuts go into effect.
